This webinar provides a small navigation framework for sexual health for RMTs. It will examine the history of the profession and how this has created barriers to care on the topic and explore the clinical impressions that indicate investigating sexual health. Finally, this webinar will further provide strategies for RMTs to broach the subject of sexual health with patients that honours their boundaries, scope of practice and dignity of the patient. 

Learning Outcomes
- Understanding how industry wide norms and individual doubts about capability that contribute to the neglect of sexual health management for patients.
- Obtain a brief comprehension of sexual health mechanisms and recognizing the clinical impressions that indicate when exploring sexual health is necessary.
- interviewing and communication strategies to foster dialogue that respects the therapeutic alliance.
-negotiating therapeutic boundaries within the context of sexual health management.

About the Presenter
Jocelyn DeLorme, RMT (previously Kirton)

Jocelyn DeLorme (she/her) has been an RMT since 2013 in Victoria, BC, Canada. She has focused her practice in supporting people manage their pelvic and sexual health for ten years. Realizing how underserved this area of healthcare is, Jocelyn began educating the massage therapy profession in 2019 on topics related to pelvic and sexual heath. The foundation of her practice and educational resources is evidence based and biopsychosocially informed. Jocelyn is passionate about demonstrating to the public, RMTs and the broader healthcare community the role massage therapy plays within the management of pelvic and sexual health.
