PRICING POLICY
The RMTAO.com has established this Pricing Policy which governs all financial transactions made with the Association, whether in-person or via the e-commerce capabilities of RMTAO.com.
All products and services offered by the Registered Massage Therapists' Association of Ontario (RMTAO) are priced in Canadian dollars. While every effort has been made to ensure that this is clearly marked, any omission in this regard is covered under this policy.
All credit card transactions are also processed in Canadian dollars regardless of the sponsoring bank for the card. Exchange rates are based on the policies of the sponsoring bank and exchange rates at the time of processing.
While the RMTAO makes every effort to ensure that all webpages promoting membership, products and services are accurate and up-to-date, in the event that there is a discrepancy between a price stated on a web page and the actual price charged by the Association, the actual prices will prevail. Individuals who no longer wish to purchase the product or service because of an error in advertised fees shall be eligible to a refund in accordance with the RMTAO’s Refund Policy.

ABOUT OUR SECURE SERVER CERTIFICATE
The RMTAO has established a secure server for many of the functions within this website, including but not limited to updating personal information, accessing restricted web pages and conducting financial transactions with the Association.
You will know that you have entered the secure server when your URL becomes https://secure.rmtao.com.
Encryption
At secure.rmtao.com we use the highest level of SSL encryption currently available to consumers. This ensures the safety and security of your credit card transactions. SSL ("Secure Sockets Layer") means that our server and your browser create and agree on an encryption key that will be used only for that particular session. Once established, this key encrypts all communication between our server and your browser.
Accountability
To add accountability to these security measures, we have a "server certificate" issued to us by RapidSSL. RapidSSL is an SSL certificate authority on the Internet. They are a trusted third party authenticator. The certificate is a way for you to verify that you are really sending your card number to us, and not someone pretending to be us. Only we have that particular certificate.
Security
With consideration to our encryption and accountability, it is safer to use your credit card online with secure.rmtao.com than it is to use it for mail-order transactions. If you still have concerns, you should review your credit card agreement or call the company that issues your card to ask about its policies regarding liability for fraudulent Internet charges.
THIS WEBSITE AND THE USE OF COOKIES
This website uses a type of cookie called a "Session Cookie" to allow communication between your browser and the web server. This type of cookie is very different from the persistent cookies used to track someone's activities on the internet.
These session cookies are essential to the proper function of this website. The site will not work properly if your browser does not accept Session Cookies.
What is a Session Cookie and how does it work?
Once you log in to the website, the server will place a small file on your computer called a Session Cookie. This file tells the webserver that that the person using this browser is logged in. Your security level for access to this website is controlled by this Session Cookie.
Every time your browser accesses a page on this website, the server will look for this small file and check to make sure that your browser is allowed to view it. If the server cannot find the cookie on your computer, it will prevent your browser from displaying the page you requested.
What is the difference between a Persistent Cookie and a Session Cookie?
There are two types of cookies, session cookies and persistent cookies. The key difference between the two is the time of expiration:
- Session cookies expire at the end of the session. This means, when you close your browser window, the session cookie is deleted. This website only uses session cookies.
- Persistent cookies do not expire at the end of the session. THIS WEBSITE DOES NOT use persistent cookies.
A session cookie may be created when you visit a site or portion of a site. The cookie exists for the duration of your visit. For example, a session cookie is created when you use the Personal Login to access secured pages. Depending on the settings in your browser, you may have the option to deny the session cookie; however, if you deny the cookie you may have trouble using the site which relies on that cookie.
Session cookies are no longer accessible after one of the following events:
- The user logs out of a site or a portion of a site
- The user shuts down the browser
- The session is inactive for a specified length of time
- The user starts a new Internet session on the same computer
A persistent cookie is used to store your preferences for use by a single site. A persistent cookie is stored each time you visit the web site that sent the cookie.
