Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
- Identify and understand the components and mechanics of a Pilates Reformer as well as the way they influence exercise parameters.
- Understand the Six Principles of Pilates and how they inherently complement rehabilitation.
- Operate a Reformer safely and independently for self and client use.
- Appreciate the value of using diversity and creative imagery with verbal cueing.
- Understand the benefits and physical requirements of 130+ beginner and intermediate Reformer Pilates exercises.
- Critically compare and contrast Reformer exercises to maximize treatment effectiveness.
- Gain insight into how Reformer Pilates can be integrated into a rehab/treatment session and modify exercises to meet individual needs.

Ellen Leung completed her BSc in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2005. She soon discovered her love of teaching and later went on to complete a MSc in Community Health in 2013 with a focus in Health Practitioner Education at the University of Toronto. The majority of her career has been focused in rehab with her most recent area of interest being pelvic health in the context of orthopedics. Pilates has become an indispensable adjunct to Ellen’s approach and she enjoys teaching workshops whenever possible. Ellen is a certified Pilates Instructor in Mat, Reformer, and Chair and uses her learnings everyday to enhance her practice.
