RMT Research & Journal Club is a CBN for Ontario RMTs interested in discussing journal articles and research-related topics.

Topic: In this meeting, we’ll start by discussing our general thoughts about the article before critically appraising each section. Please try to fill out The Words_Concept_Definitions Sheet and Checklist from El-Hage & Alarcón (2025; http://hdl.handle.net/10393/50115) as you read the article, so we can discuss these processes as well.  Article for discussion: https://doi.org/10.52082/jssm.2021.665 

It is normal to reread sections of an article, look up unfamiliar terms, or check cited references when a statement is particularly interesting, surprising, or unclear. As you work through the reading, make note of any questions, points of confusion, frustrations, or curiosities that arise.

When completing the Checklist, you may find that your response is not a straightforward “Yes” or “No.” You might be thinking, “Yes, but…” or “No, and…”. Be sure to capture those nuances and observations, as they will provide valuable material for our discussion.
