Lori originally started massage therapy at the suggestion of a chiropractor she had been seeing to help her keep mobile and to complement the treatment she was already getting. She has nerve issues in her back, and massage therapy helps keep her back pain away. Massage therapy has also been essential to help keep her performing well at her office job.

“Without massage therapy I would go back to having weekly migraines and miss more work, which would affect my performance and paycheck,” Lori said. “Never mind the constant pain in my lower back.”

Lori has experienced a lot of benefits to regular massage therapy treatment including helping her keep mobile, finding relief from migraine headaches and improving her sleep. In the past, massage therapy has helped her find pain relief from leg pain and plantar fasciitis.

She often advises others to access massage therapy as much as they can when they are having any pain and mobility issues.

“People do not understand that it is not a spa treatment – it cures problems. Anytime I have a new issue I ask if it can be fixed,” Lori said. “For example, last massage I was having mobility issues in my left shoulder, and I mentioned it to  my RMT, and she fixed it.”

In addition to the more long-term benefits, Lori loves how she feels after a massage therapy treatment. She appreciates that her RMT takes the time to check in with her and make sure she is addressing Lori’s concerns.

“After a massage, I feel relaxed and anxiously anticipate the great night's sleep I will get,” Lori said. “My RMT is one of the best out there. She always asks ahead of time if I have any new concerns so she can address them.”

Massage therapy has helped Lori remain mostly pain free and has had an overall positive impact on her life. She would recommend that anyone experiencing pain consider giving massage therapy a try.
