Request for Webinar Proposals
Are you interested in offering a webinar with the RMTAO?
Do you have an idea for a webinar that would benefit the RMT community? Would you like to share your knowledge in a particular subject area? If so, the RMTAO invites you to collaborate with us by providing insights on best practices, trends, new ideas and developments to our community of experts.
Overview
Proposals can be submitted at any time for consideration. Proposals will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and we will reach out to you within 10 business days of your submission.
Webinar proposal topics must be relevant and beneficial to Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs), with content specifically tailored to their scope of practice. Proposals must clearly outline how RMTs can apply the presented information in their professional setting. The core (majority) of the course content must be original and the majority of webinar content must be original and developed by the presenter. While the inclusion of existing research or publicly available material is acceptable, proposals should clearly demonstrate unique perspectives, insights, or applications tailored specifically to RMTs. All developed course materials for the course must comply with all copyright requirements and include references.
All proposals will be reviewed by a staff member of the Association and by members of the Education Advisory Committee.
Revisions to webinar proposals may be requested based on content goals, other proposals submitted on similar topics, and its alignment with overall educational needs of the Association.
RMTAO’s Role
- Provide the technology and infrastructure host the webinar
- Promote the webinar to its network
- Distribute all handouts to participants electronically
- Handle webinar registrations
- Handle payments for webinars
- Orientation and training/support of webinar platform (dry run)
- Moderate webinars, including adding participants and managing participant questions and concerns
Webinar Schedule
Webinars will be scheduled at the discretion of the RMTAO, taking the presenter’s schedule into consideration, but webinars are more frequently held between Tuesday and Thursday between 10:00am and 2:00pm ET.

- Title of the Webinar
- Description
Provide a description that highlights the key themes and importance of the webinar content. This description will be used for promotional purposes on the RMTAO website. Please also include a brief outline of the main topics or sections that will be covered during the presentation to give participants a clear understanding of what to expect. - Learning Outcomes
Provide 3-4 key learning outcomes that clearly describe what participants will gain or be able to do as a result of attending the webinar. - Research
Please provide a minimum of three credible sources that directly support the core concepts of the webinar content. These may include academic journal articles, industry publications, or other evidence-informed resources relevant to the topic and applicable to the practice or professional development of RMTs. - Target Audience
This may include new RMTs, seasoned RMTs, and those working with particular patient populations or in particular environments. - CMTO Competencies
List the competencies the webinar will cover. Please refer to the CMTO career-span competencies: https://www.cmto.com/rmts/quality-assurance-program/strive/career-span-competencies/ - Presenter Biography
Please provide a brief professional bio for each presenter, including relevant qualifications, experience and expertise related to the webinar topic. This information may be used for promotional purposes. - Proposed Webinar Length
The recommended length is between 60-90 minutes (includes time for Q&A). - Webinar Delivery and Engagement
Please describe the format and style of your presentation, including how the content will be delivered and the strategies you will use to engage the audience. Examples might include lecture-style delivery, patient scenario discussions, interactive Q&A sessions, or other participatory approaches. - Additional Notes
Please provide any additional information that will be helpful for us to know while considering your proposal.
Please note: Webinar maximum capacity is 95 attendees.
Minimum Technical Requirements
- Desktop or laptop with audio and video capabilities.
- Headphones or earphones with a microphone.
- Stable internet connection.
Submission Policy
Webinar proposals are to be submitted electronically to desarae@rmtao.com. All proposal submissions are subject to review by the Education Advisory Committee. Accepted submissions may be subjected to revisions based on content goals, other proposals submitted on similar topics, and its alignment with overall educational needs of the association. The presenter will be contacted when appropriate for such changes.
The RMTAO reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals or topics submitted for review.
All webinars presented by the RMTAO become the property of the RMTAO for up to 3 months from the scheduled webinar date.
All RMTAO webinars are recorded. The RMTAO reserves the right to distribute the webinar recordings at any given time through purchase with access of up to 3 months from the scheduled webinar date.
The presenter also agrees that it is their responsibility to ensure that they meet all technical requirements required for presenting a webinar.
